LeBron James’ Jersey Will Look a Little Different Than Every NBA Player's This Season

LeBron James continues to make NBA history, giving Father Time not a single moment's rest. Signing a two-year veteran contract with the Philadelphia 76ers worth $7.9 million for his 24th and 25th seasons, James is solely focused on winning his fifth championship.
Along the way, he's also set to hit benchmarks that no other player ever has across the league's near 80-year history. One such is playing in a 24th season.
To commemorate this, TOPPS and the NBA have collaborated to stitch a patch on each of James' jerseys this season depicting his iconic chalk toss, which reads "NBA SEASONS 24".
Patches from select jerseys James dons this season will be cut out and placed into 1-of-1 sports trading cards. The cards' values will most likely be predicated on when each patch was worn.
There may be a patch from a game where he had a triple-double in a win; this will undoubtedly be worth more than a patch that's taken from a game that the 76ers lost, and LBJ shot below average from the field.
Fans bore witness to the patch for the very first time last night during the 76ers' opening-night bout against the reigning champion, the New York Knicks. It can be assumed that the patch he wore from this game will almost certainly be used in one of the trading cards to drive its value up.
James also had himself a solid night in Philly's 106-100 upset win over the Knicks . He dropped 14 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and dished out seven assists.
The only way this patch doesn't make its way into a card is if he attributes a bit of sentimental value to it, given that he wore it during his debut game for a new franchise and hence would want to keep it for himself.
This is also not the first time TOPPS and the NBA have collaborated on this. They did the same last year when James was with the Los Angeles Lakers, inserting his game-worn "NBA SEASONS 23" patches into select cards.
James was clearly incredibly excited for this collaboration at the time, as he posted a video on his Instagram with the caption, "WOW!! This is beyond cool and humbling as well!"
It's safe to say that James, more or less, feels the same way about his jersey patches from this season as well.
